Caravel Autism Health is growing and seeking passionate, dedicated, and qualified individuals to join our team.  We provide in home, one-on-one ABA Therapy to our clients.  Our Mission:  We Change Lives!  We believe in making positive impact on clients’ and employees’ lives.

 

This is a full-time opportunity for those who have previous high-quality one-on-one ABA therapy experience. BCBAs/ BCaBAs are preferred but not required. We will provide and on-going supervision and support, including supervision for certification purpose in a nurturing and supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  1. Develops client specific therapeutic treatment plans based on appropriate assessments and developmental guidelines.
  2. In collaboration with supervisory staff and caregivers, develops programs appropriate to the current and future needs of the clients. Creates, monitors, and updates programs, prepares program materials, and makes procedural changes as needed.
  3. Collects and analyzes data for skill acquisition and behavioral management programs.
  4. Supervises, orients, trains, and evaluates Behavior Technicians in the implementation of programs and behavioral intervention procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of treatment program implementation by behavior technicians and to ensure the adherence of CAH policies and procedures.
  5. Develops and maintains weekly and monthly progress notes, reviews clinical documentation of Behavior Technicians, and updates treatment plans.
  6. Communicates and collaborates with parents/ caregiver to identify socially valid goals, implement generalization procedure, and provide training to parents/ caregivers.
  7. Whenever applicable, communicates and collaborates with school staff and other professionals (e.g., school observation and consultation, IEP meeting participation, attending medical/ therapy appointments for appropriate clinical objectives).
  8. Receives supervision to ensure the provision of effective and efficient service delivery.
  9. Provides supervision/ coaching to senior interns.
  10. Attends and participates in weekly clinic meetings. Continually develops skills and knowledge in ABA through participation in continuing education, workshops, and required company training.
  11. Follows and abides by all standards, regulations, and laws set forth by professional organizations, federal and state laws.
  12. Obtain/ maintain relevant credentials.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, with a strong preference for degree in education, special education, communication disorders, psychology, ABA and other related fields.
  • At least 2 years of supervised experience in ABA therapy for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) required. Experience with supervision, staff training, and parent coaching highly preferred. Experience may include the “Restricted Activities” as defined by the BACB for certification purpose, OR
  • BCBA/ BCaBA preferred but not required. Candidates for certification will be considered.
  • A solid understanding of autism and behavioral principles.
  • Experience with assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS, AFLS), functional behavioral assessment, designing programs, program implementation and monitoring, and writing treatment plans.
  • Experience with supervising/ training other staff.
  • Experience with working with parents.
  • Must pass a thorough Background Check.

Travel Required: Daily independent and reliable means of transportation to client homes and required meetings, which may involve the use of a personal vehicle.  Must have a valid driver’s license and provide proof of auto insurance.

 

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to a client who exhibits physically aggressive behavior which can include kicking, pinching, punching, biting, etc. The employee may have to use appropriate behavior management techniques frequently with a client under such circumstances. Such response requires agility, quick reflexes, and the ability to use physically evasive movement. The employee will be constantly required to stand, walk, sit, grasp, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, hear, type and write. In addition, the employee will be exposed to normal office conditions and usual office equipment such as phone, computer, printers, copiers, files, etc. The employee must be able to independently and repeatedly lift, move, and carry objects weighing up to thirty-five (35) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near, far, and field of vision. Speech must be spoken in a way in which others will understand. This position requires regular and punctual employee presence.
